My daughter mowed the backyard on the riding mower for me while I used the push mower every where else. I feel nasty, and at the same time I feel a sense of accomplishment. I am however, leaving the trimming and edging to my husband to do after work. I think I would pass out from the heat if I did any more.

I am going to grab a bit to eat for lunch and then jump in the pool. I’m sure my daughter will be joining me.

What are you doing today?

My husband has made a list of things he wants taken care of, or at least looked at, on our van before I drive it to Tennessee in a few weeks. I also want to make sure it’s ready for the trip, since he’s not going with us, the last thing I want is to break down along the highway somewhere.

His list includes all of the typical things associated with the engine as well as possibly having the brakes looked at. We just recently had all four tires checked, rotated, balanced, and aligned, so they’re all set. The last thing on my list would be to get the little dings taken out, but, they’re all just door dings, so, unless I’m going to auto body Nashville, I’m not going to worry about it. It’s not like most other cars don’t have their share of door dings! Now, if it were major collision repair, I’d be going to the experts!

Looks like we’ll be trying to put it in the shop either this week or next to make sure it’s all ready to go. I can’t believe I’ll be leaving in just a couple of weeks!

Have you ever been in an auto accident? I have, twice. The first time it did damage to the front end of the car, the 2nd time, it totaled the car. Truthfully, I’m not sure which is worse. It’s so hard to find a reputable auto body repair shop to do the work. Many times, once a car is damaged, it’s just never the same.

I was lucky though. At the time of these accidents, we were living in Souther California and that gave me access to auto body Los Angeles, experts in auto body collision repair. I was fortunate to have an expert do the repair work on my car. I had that same car for another 6 or 7 years after the repairs were done and never had a problem.

Just make sure you work with an expert if you ever need collision repair.

We’re now in our second full week of summer vacation, or is it the third? Either way, it’s the first time my daughter has seen either one of her friends from school since that last day of school. Don’t get me wrong, she’s seen her softball friends and neighborhood friends, but these are her two close friends that she usually only sees at school.

T invited them over for the afternoon and we are going to the theater to see Get Smart. One of the girls has all ready seen it with her family, but she said she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to see it again. That’s a good sign! I’m a little disappointed that my husband can’t go with us, I think he would enjoy it, but he has to work.

Maybe I’ll do a review of the movie when I get back, so stay tuned!

During the seven years we lived in Illinois, the town we lived in tried and failed to pass a tax bond issue that would raise the funds to build a skatepark in the town. I realized skateparks are very popular, but I’m not sure the taxpayer should be paying for them to be built or for the insurance that must come with them to cover those using the park.

We moved last year and, to my surprise, the town we now live in has a very large skatepark. It is in use quite frequently. I’m glad to see it being used and to know that the taxpayers money is being put to use. Skaters do have to bring their own skateboards and gear, but there is no charge for them to use the park itself.

I don’t know the history behind this issue here or how it was payed for. It is part of the local Parks Department and I’m sure they carry insurance on the park as well. While I have nothing against skateboarding, in fact, I think it can be a fun sport, it’s a small percentage of the population that uses this park and I’m still not convinced it’s the taxpayers who should be paying for it.

What do you think?

In the 7+ years we lived in Illinois, I probably held at least 4 garage sales. This was such a simple way of getting rid of unwanted or unused items in our house. Before we moved, I had a huge garage sale, plus, I had an “no longer used” furniture sale that I advertised through my employer newsletter. Prior to that, I had sold quite a bit through our local paper, particularly baby and children’s items.

Now that we’ve moved, I have no desire to hold a garage sale. For one thing, it is way to hot here. I have instead been donating items to charity. I have a box that I toss thing into as I run across them and about every two months, the local charity comes out to pick up my donations. I do have a few items though that I’m wanting to get rid of, but would rather advertise them.

Many people have taken to using Craigslist to sell and get rid of their unwanted and unused items. A downside to this though is the time it takes to create item listings, particularly if you have multiple items. As busy as we all are, time is not something we want to spend typing in online forms, listing items and doing follow up.

With that in mind, I’d like to provide you with this craygo review.

Craygo is an automatic posting software that allows you to maximize the time you spend posting ads on Craigslist. Craygo helps you reduce the time you spend posting an ad by almost 50%. This software has many time saving features including allowing you to store your ads for future posting, automatically entering your ad data into the correct forms on Craigslist and properly submitting the ads on your behalf. Craygo software is simple to use and comes with a manual that explains every feature and how to use them. This is a screen shot of the Craygo software in action.

Craygo has more features than any other Craigslist posting application out there and Craygo has more features than Easy Ad Poster (EzAdSuite), AdsOnCraigs, AdBomber and AdMaster. Features include:

automatically publish your ads

captcha reading capability (in the elite version)

send email reports of posting activity

can specify a posting delay

manual and email support 7 days a week

user friendly

If you’re a Craigslist user, you should really check out this software. If you have more questions, there is a live chat available to answer your pre-puchase questions.

We were just standing around talking about family and I mentioned that my sister-in-law and her son will be coming for a visit over the 4th of July. Our nephew is in his mid-20’s and has graduated from college. He has been living and working in San Francisco for the past several years and that’s also where he went to school. He recently decided to pack everything up and move to his mom’s in a Chicago suburb, although, I’m not sure what his plans for the future entail. It’s got to be pretty challenging, believe it or not, he has never driven a car. He doesn’t even have a driver’s license.

In San Fransisco, I believe he rode a bicycle, walked or used public transportation to get around. I’m not sure what he did if he went out on a date. There is a great public transportation in Chicago too, but it really depends on if he gets a job working downtown or not. Out in the suburbs it’s definitely more challenging to be without a vehicle.

Even if you don’t own or don’t immediately plan to own a vehicle, I think a obtaining a driver’s license is important. You just never know when the need to drive might arise. There really aren’t too many places in this country that you can live and get around without owning a car. People think they have to buy new cars, which are expensive, but there are a lot of used cars for sale in sd and all over the country that can be great cars for getting to and from work, etc.

I personally would feel such a loss of independence if I didn’t have a car. How would you feel not having a car?

My daughter-in-law, her husband and their little baby girl arrived last night for a visit from California. This is their first visit to our home here in Texas and I know my husband really enjoyed giving them the home tour last night.

Our guest bedroom is really quite large and is set off by itself upstairs. I furnished it after we moved here, mostly with inexpensive furniture from the outlet mall nearby. I’m still wanting to find a nightstand and perhaps a chair to add to the room, but for last night, my husband took the rocking chair upstairs that is normally in our family room. The baby likes to be rocked to sleep so I’m glad we had it.

They have a beautiful home themselves out in California, although, they haven’t had it too long and are still trying to fill rooms with furniture, including the guest room. I was telling my daughter-in-law about places she could look, including San Diego bedroom furniture which wouldn’t be too far for them to go. In fact, I know they go to San Diego pretty regularly for various reasons, so they might as well check out the furniture while they’re there!

Anyway, for now, I’m just glad they’re here. That little baby is so darn cute, I can’t wait for her to wake up so I can play with her!

My daughter was watching the news last night and was laughing because the top story of the day was the fact that one of the major dairy companies had just begun to sell organic milk in the major grocery stores. This was the top news story again during the next half hour, so I got to see what all the “excitement” was about.

While the story should be that they were selling organic milk, the actual story seemed to revolve more around the container that the milk was in. It was slightly smaller than a typical gallon of milk, but was specially designed with input from parents and kids too. There was quite a bit of discussion about the milk jug’s handle because it was designed along with other ergonomic products in mind. Supposedly, it’s easier for kids to pick up and be able to pour their own milk.

I’m glad that they are now offering organic milk and that it’s in what appears to be a well thought out jug, but hey, does that story really warrant the big news story of the day?
