Extremely Annoyed
July 1, 2008 on 7:59 pm | In My Imagination | No CommentsMy daughter’s cell phone has been receiving an automated call from Chrysler Financial for the last several weeks. She has been ignoring it, but their computer continues to call. Last night, I finally grabbed her phone and answered it, after which, I was automatically placed on hold. When a human finally came on the line, there was no “hello” or anything, he simply mumbled some name which I had to ask him to repeat. I then informed this person that they obviously had a wrong number and to please stop calling. He assured me that they would stop.
Low and behold, my daughter’s phone just rang and guess who it was! I’m ticked. I went through the whole process with the guy again. I assured him that this was a wrong number and I had no idea who the person was they were trying to contact. Obviously somebody owes them money, but they are calling the wrong person. I verified the phone number with him and again told him they were calling the wrong number and to please stop. He said they would. We shall see.
So, HUNTER COLLINS, if you owe Chrysler Financial anything at all, they are trying to reach out and touch you!

June 27, 2008 on 6:30 am | In My Imagination | 2 CommentsTHE SNEEZE (received in an email)
They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the
already crowded auditorium.
With their rich maroon gowns flowing .. and the traditional caps, they
looked almost … as grown up as they felt.
Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away
tears.
This class would NOT pray during the commencements—-not by choice, but
because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.
The principal and several students were careful to stay within the
guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and
challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one
asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.
The speeches were nice, but they were routine…..until the final speech
received a standing ovation.
A solitary student walk ed proudly to the microphone. He stood still and
silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.
All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!
The student on stage.. simply looked at the audience and said, ‘GOD
BLESS YOU!’ And he walked off stage…
The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a
unique way to invoke God’s blessing on their future with or without the
court’s approval. Isn’t this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your
friends………and GOD BLESS YOU!!!!
This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland

June 22, 2008 on 6:28 pm | In My Imagination | No CommentsMy husband and I just finished watching one of my very favorite movies, The Long, Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
I absolutely love this movie! It was made in 1954 and it’s such a classic. The newly married couple opts to buy a 40 foot long trailer as their permanent home and then travel cross country with it. Neither one of them has a clue what they’re in for or what they’re doing and the entire movie is about their mishaps and adventures that revolve around the trailer. It’s really very funny.
I wish there was a movie trailer I could insert here, but alas, I wasn’t able to find one. If you would like to read a more in depth synopsis of this great and funny movie, head over to Turner Classic Movies and read all about it. ![]()
What a Storm!
June 17, 2008 on 4:42 pm | In My Imagination | 2 CommentsWOW! What a storm we had roll through north Texas today!
When I turned the news on this morning, the meteorologist told me that there was a big storm up in Oklahoma that “may” cross the Red River and affect towns close to the Texas/Oklahoma border, such as Sherman, Texas. That was a big maybe and a big mistake!
Not only did the storm come down into Texas, it came all the way down into Dallas and surrounding suburbs. Around 11 a.m. today, the winds picked up, some gusting up to 65 mph., and the thunder and lightening started. It began raining super hard and then, almost as soon as the storm hit, we lost power. Our power was off for over 2 hours.
We had orthodontist and other appointments today, so we did have to go out in this weather. Fortunately, the worst of it passed before we had to leave the house. With the loss of power, I even had to figure out how to open the garage door manually. We got out and got everything done. Softball practice is canceled tonight due to more storms heading our way. Hopefully, these upcoming storms won’t be as powerful as the ones that rolled through here earlier today.

June 8, 2008 on 7:22 pm | In Family, Family Health, My Imagination | 2 CommentsThis has really been a great weekend. I love all weekends, but this particular weekend was especially nice for us.
Friday was fairly hectic as my daughter celebrated her first day out of school for summer break, she and I headed out to run errands and purchase all of our supplies for the party we were hosting on Saturday for her softball team. They had a terrific season and we wanted to celebrate that with them. Needless to say, with all of our running, we probably didn’t eat so well. My daughter and I both ate paninis for lunch and they were loaded with cheese. We got home right at dinner time, so we convinced my husband to take us out for dinner, Chinese, which was followed by ice cream.
Yesterday, my husband and I spent the entire morning and afternoon cleaning house (I did that), cleaning the pool (he did that) and mowing the yard (we both did that). We snacked our way through the day because we didn’t have time to stop and eat. Plus, I had all ready cleaned the kitchen and didn’t want to do it again. It was a great workout of a day, but I’m sure we didn’t eat very healthy.
Last night for the party, another player’s dad brought pizza. Other parents brought desserts like brownies and cupcakes, plus we had ice cream sandwiches. Yes, I ate some of everything. I think the only healthy thing I ate yesterday besides a couple of bottles of water was some cantaloupe that somebody had brought. I’m telling you, I’d have to find a lap-band surgeon if I continued to eat like that on a regular basis! Tomorrow is the start of a new week and we’re going back to home cooked meals, the best way I know to control what I eat.
No matter, it was a great weekend and it was fun to entertain for the first time out at our pool. Everything we used was disposable to it either went in the recycling bin or the trash and that was clean up, very easy. The house was still nice and clean this morning when I got out of bed which was fantastic!
What did you do this weekend?
The Buzz on Paramore
June 2, 2008 on 8:14 am | In My Imagination | 1 Comment
Paramore recently released it’s third cd, “RIOT!”. I think what I like about the band is that they write their own music. They write music from the heart, for themselves and for their fans. Click here to listen to songs from this new cd and read the band’s bio. The energy of the band and Hayley’s charisma make all of the videos worth watching. They’re fun and energetic and I like that there is a lot of audience participation, they’re singing along. In fact, the band loves its fans so much that they even held a contest for its fans and the winners won the right to sing vocals “Born For This”, one of the songs on “RIOT!”, written for the fans.
I’m very happy that I’ve discovered this great band, they’ve got a very bright future ahead of them.

May 29, 2008 on 6:24 pm | In Family, My Imagination | 2 CommentsI’ve felt so cruddy lately that I really haven’t felt like doing anything beyond what is necessary to do. Today, I decided I was tired of not having any fun and I took myself to the mall to meet my friend for lunch.
We had a great time. First we had lunch in the food court and then we did some shopping. I couldn’t believe how much was in the stores that I actually liked. I wasn’t in the mood to try on clothes, so will leave that for another day. I did end up getting two pairs of sandals and some lingerie. I had so much fun that I popped into one of my daughter’s favorite stores and saw quite a bit that I thought she would like. I’m really likeing the colors this spring/summer.
After picking my daughter up from school, I took her to the mall and she wound up with a new swim suit and a few new tops. She had as much fun as I did and I think we both needed the retail therapy. My head still hurts, but I managed to put a smile on my face! ![]()
Hiding In Plain Sight
May 29, 2008 on 9:58 am | In My Imagination | 2 CommentsHave you ever imagined what it must be like to have to hide out in a witness protection program? Maybe I’ve watched too much t.v., but I think it would be pretty scary. I can’t imagine that anyone having to hide like that would ever live anything close to a normal life. I have to think they would always be checking over their shoulder to see if they’ve been discovered. Too nerve wracking for me! I like my calm little life.
USA Network’s new original series In Plain Sight revolves around those in the witness protection program. This great, suspenseful show airs June 1st and I’ll be watching.
Watch my video for clues about where I might be hiding. Leave me a comment if you think you know where I am!
Happy Memorial Day!
May 26, 2008 on 7:00 am | In My Imagination | 1 CommentI would like to wish all of my U.S. readers a safe and happy Memorial Day!
We had friends over and we all went and watched the new Indiana Jones movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out by our pool, eating and drinking and playing pool volleyball. It was very relaxing and really, although it was 95 degrees out, there was a nice breeze (not a high wind for a change) and it was nice to be outside.
Today we plan to do pretty much the same thing, just on our own. So, to all my U.S. readers, enjoy your day! To anyone not in the U.S., I wish you a great day also, even if you do have to go to work. ![]()
A Quiet Day
May 24, 2008 on 7:00 pm | In My Imagination | 2 CommentsI enjoyed a somewhat quiet day today, a relief for my head which has yet to stop pounding.
I started the morning lounging with my coffee, watching sewing shows on t.v., something I’ve NEVER done! My husband joined me later and we watched Top Chef before I got in the shower. He then took my daughter to pitching practice and they were gone a few hours.
The time alone allowed me to very slowly clean up the kitchen and family room. Going through the stacks of mail and getting rid of things. I was able to stop and sit a while in between tasks so my head didn’t feel any worse. By the time they got home I had cleared the counters and done some laundry. I was then outside working on trimmig some bushes.
All in all, I got quite a bit done today. I still have to do the floors in the morning before our company arrives, but I always do that last so we don’t get them dirty again too quickly.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! ![]()
