That’s right, Puppies vs. Babies it’s up for debate.  Which do you think are cuter, puppies or babies?

Of course, as a mom, I would have to say one baby in particular was totally cuter than any puppy you’ll ever see!  But, as a puppy owner (yes, our dog will always be a puppy in our hearts), she could definitely win a cutest puppy contest, paws down!

Plinkos birthday

What do you think?  Visit Puppies vs. Babies online contest before November 23 to cast your vote.  The entry deadline for this contest is past, but voting is still going on, so be sure to visit and cast your vote.  Let me know what you think, which way did you vote, puppies or babies?  Seriously?  I think it’s sort of difficult to choose.

My little baby is 15 now, so I didn’t feel right about submitting her photo in the baby category (although I still think she would win!), and my furry baby is now almost 5, although she still puts on a wonderfully lovable puppy face when she really wants something!

So, check it out, cast your vote and come back & leave me a comment, let me know how you voted!

High School Football Playoffs

November 13, 2011 on 9:49 am | In Some of This Some of That | Comments Off

Last night completed round 1 in the Texas high school football playoffs. Typical to how Allen High School has been performing the past few weeks, the defense seemed to wait until the 4th quarter to show up for the game making what should have been a blowout, a close call. In the end, we won 30-17 with Allen scoring 17 unanswered points in the 4th quarter.

So, Allen moves on to round 2 and will play Euliss Trinity next Saturday afternoon. Allen better make sure both sides of the ball show up to play from the opening kickoff or they may find their season coming to a close next week!

Stand Up For Family

This post brought to you by American Family Insurance. All opinions are 100% mine.

You know, sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives that we feel nothing but the stress of trying to keep everything flowing and on schedule.  Family life can sound more like a job than anything else, something of a chore.  Have you ever just taken a step back and found yourself chuckling and wondering if other families ever experience the things yours goes through.

Stand Up For Family is hosted by Bill Bellamy and includes many of today’s hottest comedians, sharing their own family life experiences.  Trust me when I tell you, any family out there will find that they can relate to most, if not all, of these comedians and their take on daily family life.  Personally, I enjoyed all of the videos and it’s true what they say, laughter really is good medicine and left me with a huge smile on my face.  I now feel I can continue on and, next time I’m feeling stressed about something simple like making sure everyone has had their bath!

American Family Insurance the sponsor of Stand Up For Family, is committed to supporting the family and all of these videos can be viewed as a family.  This is honest to goodness, good clean humor.  Family is so important to me and it’s so nice to see a major company like  AmFam who feels the same way.

Feel free to click the link to view the Stand Up For Family videos and have yourself a good laugh!

Fall is Finally Here

November 5, 2011 on 5:00 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments Off

After an unbearable summer of heat and drought here in North Texas, Fall has finally arrived. Last night, while sitting at the final regular season high school football game, we actually had to wear light coats! It was fantastic!

Today is supposed to be around 70, although the winds have returned once again and so it’s not a great day to be outside. Yesterday, while cooler, it was perfectly calm and a wonderful day to spend time outside.

I hope Fall hangs around a while, but something tells me we’re not far from having to turn on the heater. Such a shame, I’m still trying to recover from our enormous electric bills for all the a/c we had to use this summer. Well, I’m going to enjoy it while it’s here, see ya!

Fed Up With THEM!

This guest post from Lenny Mcknight

Last year I was totally fed up with our energy provider when I found out that Carrollton Residents can get Ambit Electricity. I was pretty relieved about it but no one was more so than my husband. He’s a really nice, non-confrontational guy so he had to listen to me on the phone at least once a week practically cussing out the old energy people because our light service wasn’t even stable! He would have rather lived in a dark house for weeks than gotten on the phone and into a fight with someone but not me…that’s the way in which we’re most different. I don’t know what in the world I was thinking when I married such a softie but I guess it’s good because we balance each other out most of the time. If he wasn’t the way he was perhaps we wouldn’t have any friends and I would be a lot more aggressive and mean than I am already. No one wants to imagine what that might be like…ugh!
