Straight Talk
July 30, 2011 on 5:01 am | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffThis post brought to you by Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.
Do you despise paying your cell phone bill every month? I know it’s one of my least favorite bills to pay because I can’t help but think I’m getting overcharged. If I simply want to call a friend I have to think about how much it might be costing me to make that one simple phone call.
I was in Wal-Mart the other day and noticed a sign advertising Straight Talk. The sign said something to the affect that there are no contracts and that my monthly bill could be half of what I’m currently paying. So, when I got home, I looked into it and even found this video:
Straight talk has everything you need, phones from the major manufacturers, great prices, unlimited calling, text, picture messaging and even web. The unlimited service starts at only $45 per month, that would be an incredible monthly savings for me! There are also no activation, reactivation or termination fees, what other cell phone service can say that? If the above information isn’t enough to grab you hook, line and sinker then how about the fact that they not only carry great phones, but they also offer smartphones.
Before you go signing a contract with any other wireless service, be sure to at least check out Straight Talk which is available only at Wal-Mart.
Which Toy?
July 29, 2011 on 4:11 pm | In Dog Sense | Comments Off
Decision, decisions! I have so many great toys, I just can’t decide which one to play with. Now the purple one I think is my favorite because mom puts treats in it and I have figured out how to get them out. The blue one? Well, she puts treats in there too, but it’s more difficult for me to get to them. She gives me this one when she really wants to keep me busy! The yellow on is my newest toy. It’s like a tennis ball in dog bone shape. I love chewing the fuzz off of tennis balls, but this toy has some sort of covering that makes it so I can’t do that. I think I prefer a tennis ball!
Decisions, decision, which one should I choose?
Scrubs Anyone?
July 25, 2011 on 3:52 pm | In Family | Comments OffMy niece is a school nurse and I know it’s important to her to not only look the part of a professional nurse, but also not look scary to the young kids who rely on her for care. My daughter went through elementary school being afraid to go see the school nurse simply because of the way the nurse looked, stern and uncaring.
My niece tries her best to find scrubs to wear to work that are comfortable, practical, and yet cute. I recommend that she check out Blue Sky Scrubs, http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/ for a wide variety of scrubs to choose from. Just like a an executive who needs a good quality suit, she needs nursing scrubs uniforms for all the same reasons. Plus, they sell everything from scrub tops and bottoms, to customized scrubs, so there is a lot to choose from.
I think that not only will my niece be happy with the choices, but she will look good at work and the kids at school will be comforted by her professional, but friendly appearance. I for one, can’t wait to see what she chooses. If you know anyone working in the medical profession who wears scrubs on a regular basis, you might also want to share this same link. (of course, this is just my opinion, you can decide for yourself).
Dog Boarding
July 13, 2011 on 10:12 am | In Family | Comments OffSeriously, have a pet of any kind is work, but well worth it. However, it can become very frustrating when we humans try to go out of town, whether for business or pleasure, and need to find someone to care for our furry family member while we’re away.
My daughter is playing in a softball tournament this weekend in a town that is almost 100 miles from home. I work for a hotel chain and was able to get us a hotel room for 2 nights at only $29/night. Hard to say no to getting a good nights sleep and a chance to get in out of the heat. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble finding someone to care of our dog while we’re away. I found a boarding kennel in the town where we would be staying, but they close at 5 in the evening and there is no way we can get there by then. The kennel nearest home is $48 per night, I don’t want to spend that much.
I feel like I’m spinning my wheels, just trying to do what’s best for our dog. Why can’t the hotel just accept pets?! That would solve my problem.
Traveling
July 12, 2011 on 2:12 pm | In Family | Comments OffThe first half of July has been pretty quiet, but the 2nd half is going to be so full. We begin this weekend with a softball tournament. I have hotel reservations for us so we don’t have to keep driving the 95 miles between home and the ball fields. Then, next week we are meeting my sisters and mom for a mini vacation. Finally, at the end of the month, we will be having a getaway weekend for my husband’s birthday.
I’m looking forward to all the time away, but it’s always chaotic making sure everything is in order before we go. I’ve got all the travel plans arranged and even have arrangements for the dog. It does make me nervous leaving the house empty so much. Whether we’re looking for home security for truckers or security systems for ourselves, we just need something that can provide peace of mind. Our neighbors are gone pretty frequently, so I can’t really rely on them to keep watch on our home. I just don’t want to have to concern myself with worrying about coming home to find my Direct TV box was gone!
When you travel, how do you ensure your home is safe and protected?
