Softball Season is Underway!
February 24, 2011 on 3:25 pm | In Family | Comments OffIt’s official, the high school softball season is underway! Actually, we are just completing week 2, and my daughter’s JV team is currently holding a record of 2 wins, 1 loss. I think Varsity has the same record at this point. Varsity is hosting a tournament this weekend, and amazingly, the thunderstorms that were supposed to move through today turned out to be mild drizzles. It was enough to cause a delay in the start of today’s games, but at least the tournament will still go on.
My daughter’s travel team is playing its first games of the season on Saturday. I won’t be able to attend because I will be working in the concession stand at the Varsity tournament. Oh well, that’s the way it goes.
Right now the sky has cleared and I’m looking out the window at a clear, bright blue sky. That makes me quite happy!
Tulips
February 16, 2011 on 3:23 pm | In My Imagination | Comments Off
Tulips, they’re my very favorite flower. I love how, in the Spring, just when you thought pretty weather would never be seen again, tulips pop up out of the ground, a very welcome surprise. They are so simple and yet elegant at the same time. Simple and sturdy, something I strive to be. Tulips, my very favorite flower and my favorite part of Spring.
Get Rid of Rodents
February 9, 2011 on 2:01 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffThis post brought to you by Victor Pest. All opinions are 100% mine.
My mom has a serious mouse problem at her home in Indiana. Her yard backs up to a field and the mice seem to really enjoy moving into her garage and even more, they really like her kitchen. She winters down south, so in her absence they seem to move in and set up house in her place. She sets mouse traps, but it’s kind of a nuisance, not to mention gross having to deal with the dead critters. The live mice make such a mess, and my mom has to contend with the clean up when she gets back home in the Spring.
I recently talked to her about a rodent control product I discovered. Victor® PestChasers® are safer to use than poisons, eliminate having to clean up dead critters and are safe around humans and household pets. In fact Victor® carries a full line of products designed to eliminate rodent problems. The Pet Chasers emit a sound that can’t be heard by humans, but annoys the rodents so much that they move out. The take their mess someplace else. These are electronic devices that are available in different sizes. Simply plug one in to an electrical outlet and, within 6-10 days, the rodent population will have either decreased or be gone all together. The life of each unit is estimated to be around 5-7 years, so these little babies will last quite a while, leaving the place mouse free.
Victor® is currently running a special promotion on the Protect Your Space Combo Kit for $99.99 including FREE shipping!! The kit includes the following: (1) Victor® Sonic PestChaser® Heavy Duty Sonic, (2) Victor® Sonic Mini PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent, and (2) Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap. Considering the life of the product, this is really a great deal!
Have you ever had to deal with this type of issue in your home?
Those Are Some Big Arches!
February 7, 2011 on 3:05 pm | In travel | Comments OffWe drove to Kansas City over New Years, and, en route, we had to drive under the Golden Arches. Supposedly, this is the largest McDonald’s. I’m not sure if that means inside or the exterior. It has an interstate running underneath it which is sort of cool, don’t you think?! We did stop to go in and use the restroom, although we didn’t purchase any food.
