Online Product Reviews
January 8, 2009 on 12:00 am | In Finance, technology | Comments OffI find it amazing to think about all the things that can be done simply by having an internet connection. Really, think about it. There is so much information waiting for us on the world wide web and all we have to do is type a word or phrase in a little box and press enter. The list of possible search results could be endless and it could be a real time saver to know which links to click on and which could be useless information. This is exactly where a service such as HottestProducts.net can come into play because they have reviews of just about any online product or service that you could possibly think of.
Have a New Year’s resolution to go on a diet? Check their website for reviews on all the latest online dieting programs. Another big resolution is to get your finances in order. If you need help with that, check out the reviews on Credit Repair Programs to give you a head start on meeting your goal. Need your horoscope? Find the best place to get it online by reading a review first. How about your dog, does he need training and you don’t know how to go about it? Check the reviews at HottestProducts.net and you’ll get help.
There really are so many great products and services at our fingertips. It’s nice to be able to read a product review to help consumers make informed decisions before making purchases.

January 7, 2009 on 11:30 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffJust a quick not to say I went to the Hilton offices today and filled out all my re-hire paperwork. That only too about 30 minutes and then I had to go back to the medical clinic to have pee in another cup for yet another drug test. Jeez! I’m getting pretty darn accurate!
Anyway, I start back to work on Monday. There will be a few changes in scheduling, I’m waiting to hear the details and am hoping it’s positive changes. I’ll let you know more later!

Hook ‘em Horns!
January 6, 2009 on 9:52 pm | In Entertainment, news | Comments OffOkay, I have to admit, I don’t really watch that much college football and I definitely don’t keep up with all the games, scores and standings. But, that being said, I have to tell you that I watched a very exciting Fiesta Bowl last night between the Ohio Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns.
The game didn’t look like it was going to be worth watching when my husband turned it on. The first quarter was so boring that we all went into the other room and played on our Wii until it was time for my daughter to go to bed. I was turning everything off in the family room when I checked the score of the game, just as the Longhorns scored a touchdown by having their quarterback, Coyt McCoy, carry the ball across the goal line showing some nice dance moves as he did it. This put Texas in the lead and I decided to watch a little bit more before going to bed.
Well, the game was really just getting going and the 4th quarter was so great to watch. The Longhorns were up a couple of touchdowns at one point and then, the Buckeyes began to dominate. They scored, not once, but twice. Then it was time for the Horns to show their stuff. At one point, the Buckeyes and their fans thought they had stopped Texas and the game was basically over. But, leave it to the refs to be involved, the made a measurement and determined that the Longhorns had indeed gained enough yards to make a critical 1st down. Even thought the Ohio coach challenged the placement of the ball, the play call stood up to the challenge and on the very next play, with only second left on the game clock, Texas scored the final, winning touchdown to take the win away from Ohio.
This is one of the few really good football games I’ve seen this year, college or professional. Although, I do have to say, we did watch our local high school team in December as they won the Texas State Division 5-A Championship in a game that was very similar in its excitement.

January 5, 2009 on 9:13 pm | In Family, travel | 1 CommentMy husband and I have always dreamed of having our very own log cabin in the woods. It would be someplace that is easy enough to get too and yet completely private. The location would include a beautiful river where the fishing is good and the treasure hunting (as my daughter has always call scavenging) would be plentiful. In fact, the Skagit Valley of Washington State where my parents used to own property would be perfect, although, a little far from Dallas!
Seriously though, we’ve always thought it would be awesome to have our own little place in the woods. I was recently looking around online at log cabins and discovered The Timberworks Garden Company, located in the UK, that has a great selection of log cabins. Not only will they ship your choice of cabin to anywhere on the mainland UK, but, if you so choose, they’ll even set it up for you.
Think about all the variety of uses for a log cabin. Yes, it can be the dream getaway place in the woods, but it could also be your workshop located on your back lot. Or, maybe you’ve been wishing for a place for all the exercise equipment you got for Christmas? How about a cute cabin in your back yard? I could use one in our back yard to have my very own private sewing area. I would absolutely love that!
For now, I’m just going to keep dreaming of my log cabin in the woods, or, my new sewing room which is sounding better and better the more I say it!
Hilton Hires Back
January 5, 2009 on 9:25 am | In Finance | 4 CommentsI’ve been hesitant to say anything, but last month I received a letter from Hilton Reservations and Customer Care saying they were hoping to be rehiring trainees in January or February. If I was interested in returning to Hilton, I simply needed to send them an email stating so.
Well, I sent them my email saying yes of course I was interested and the very next day I received an email reply giving me my rehire date! I am scheduled to go into the office day after tomorrow to complete rehire paperwork and then I will start my final 3 weeks of training next Monday, one week from today.
I’ve really been nervous about saying anything because it seems that the economy is certainly not getting any better and I keep waiting for Hilton to say they’ve made a mistake. Then again, perhaps they’ve simply had a reduction in work force due to people voluntarily leaving the company and they need to hire replacements. Either way, I’m in the first class to be called back. I will be very interested to see what other familiar faces are in my class and which ones opted not to return.
Wish me luck!
