The Gaza Strip Attacked

Following a 6 month truce that ended December 19, Hamas refused to extend the agreement and began firing rockets on the area.  In an effort to put a stop to the attacks begun by Hamas, Israel has launched an air assault on The Gaza Strip and Hamas quickly retaliated.  In this escalation of violence, at least 155 people have all ready been killed.

Leaders from surrounding countries, including Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, are calling for an end to the violent attacks from both sides.
