The NBC network has announced the David Gregory, long time Chief White House correspondent, has been named the new permanent host and moderator of “Meet the Press” beginning next week. Tom Brokaw has been temporarily filling in as host since the networks beloved host, Tim Russert, passed away unexpectedly as a result of a heart attack this past June.

“Meet the Press” has been a Sunday morning t.v. staple for since November, 1947 and dominates the other networks when it comes to Sunday morning politics.  38 year old David Gregory was quoted as saying “Meet the Press” is one of the greatest jobs there is”. This interview program is hard hitting and gets to the heart of the issues. Considering the turmoil our economy is currently in, I just hope Gregory isn’t going to need Blackhawk Gear to succeed in his new role.

The NBC network has stated that besides being the new moderator, David Gregory will  continue to contribute on a regular basis to “Today” as well as continue in his role as a back up anchor.  Best of luck to David Gregory, sounds like he’s going to be one busy man!

Remember Pearl Harbor

I realize that many today are too young to remember, but today is an extremely important day, not only here in the U.S.A., but around the world. December 7, 1941, the day Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was bombed in a surprise attack by the Japanese.

The U.S.S. Arizona remains sunken at the bottom of the harbor as a solemn memorial to all of the many who gave their lives that day, as President Roosevelt said soon after the attack, “a day that will live in infamy”.
