The Suit Makes the Man
November 2, 2008 on 9:37 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffMy husband is in need of a couple of new suit for work. I believe the last new mens’ suit he bought was at least 2 years ago, and all his other suits are so old they’re looking shiny from all the pressing and dry cleaning. Suits can be so expensive, but a nice suit can make a man look so good!
Last year my husband traveled to China on business and his boss was also on the trip. They had to meet with several high level Chinese officials and to my husband’s surprise, his boss didn’t even bring a coat & tie, much less a suit. They managed to find a local tailor who would create a made to measure suit in about 24 hours and it turned out beautifully. For what a good suit costs, I think it’s important to have them made of quality fabric and fit whatever man is wearing it. That can be very tough to achieve when a man buys a suit off the rack at a department store. Even with tailoring, it still may not look its best.
I’m recommending that my husband do what his boss did and visit www.MySuitNY.com to order a custom suit. The process is really quite simple. At the website, he will have the opportunity to provide his exact measurements (up to 30 different measurements are used for accuracy in of fit) and will be guided through the process by a consultant. He will then be able to choose the style of both the pants and the jacket that he prefers as well as the fabric and color he wants.
You’d think a made-to-measure suit would be astronomically expensive, but they actually start at around $495 and he could have his new suit in about 2 weeks. I think the next time he has a trip planned to NY I’m going to tell him to schedule an appointment with MySuitNY.

The Price of Aging
November 2, 2008 on 6:10 pm | In Family Health | Comments OffI completed my annual doctors appointment, multiple blood tests, mammograms, bone density, and all sorts of other tests. In the end I feel fortunate to find out that I am in an overall healthy condition with the exception of early onset osteoporosis. To combat that I have been placed on a prescription that I will more than likely be taking for the rest of my life, as well as several supplement to build up my calcium and vitamin D levels.
I did a stock up shopping event today for supplements and this is what I came home with.
- Liquid Calcium Citrate with Magnesium – $8.99 (this was the sale price, it’s normally $10.99)
- Ionic form calcium (mix with water for flavored water) – $17.99
- Vitamin D 400mg, 100 soft capsules $4.99
In addition, I pay a monthly $25 for my Fosomax prescription. In the end though, this is sure cheaper and much less painful than broken bones.
