Entertaining Television with Ellen

I am sitting here watching Ellen Degeneres and I am laughing so hard I may need a rehab center! She is showing items that are being sold in the middle of the night on infomercials and it’s insane!

To start with, she bought something called Shemala. It’s 2 plastic thumbs that you’re supposed to use for massaging yourself! The instructions don’t make any sense, so she’s making up her own and she’s hysterical. Then she bought “Fast Abs Firming Gel”. You’re supposed to rub it on your abs and that’s how they get firm! Uh yea, right! Then you can massage your sore abs with your plastic thumbs.

Then, once your abs are all nice and firm and you’ve massaged yourself with your new plastic thumbs, you can put on your new dust mop slippers and clean your floors!

Ironman – The Movie

October 27, 2008 on 3:01 pm | In Entertainment | Comments Off

Over the weekend, my husband rented a couple of movies for us to watch.  One of them was Ironman.  I was a little skeptic, but figured what the heck, I had nothing better to do.  So, it was Saturday family night at the movies with Ironman.

This movie gets into the action immediately, although, in a quite different way then what I expected.  I found it really interesting how the developed and explained the background of the main character, Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, Jr.  I must say, I’ve never seen him looking so in shape!  That alone made the movie worth watching!

There was a lot of violence, but in the typical good over evel scenario, Tony Stark sees the error of his ways pretty early on.  He spends the rest of the movie attempting to put things right. Overall, I found this to be a fun movie and enjoyable to watch.

Getting Caught Up With Desperate Housewives

October 27, 2008 on 11:20 am | In Entertainment | Comments Off

I love TIVO, I think it’s the best invention since sliced bread, but I do get frustrated with it sometimes. For example, I have a “season pass” to record episodes of Desperate Housewives, but for some reason, I have to reset it at the beginning of the new season or it doesn’t record. So, because I forgot about this glitch, the season opener didn’t record, I completely missed it. This season skipped 5 years and I’m still trying to figure out why.

I thought the latest episode was supposed to fill in some of those blanks, but I still feel sort of lost. Gaby is still my favorite character and when she thinks she’s pregnant, again, she handles it as only Gaby could. I still can’t figure out why she and Carlos have 2 kids and they’re both overweight. Lynette finds out Tom is going through yet another mid-life crisis. This man just doesn’t seem to enjoy stability in his life. Susan didn’t allow her boyfriend to move in, this made me happy. I haven’t yet figured out why she and Mike got a divorce after all they went through to get married in the first place. We also discover why Bree made Kathryn her partner. Rather than sending Bree to an alcohol treatment center when she discovered Bree had begun drinking again, Kathryn moved in with her and got her through a rough time in her life. What a good friend!

I guess I’m just going to have to watch the first episode in full on the web and try to make sense of what’s going on this season!

  6. Good deals to be found on the stock market
  7. Technology continues to get better while prices continue to get lower.
  8. Food prices shouldn’t be rising too much more.
