Feeling Like an Idiot

I thought I was doing so well.  I not only remembered to send my girlfriend of over 30 years a birthday card, but I even remembered to call her personally today and wish her a happy birthday!  It helped that I had written her name and bday on my calendar.

Here comes the idiot part.

I called her and she informed me that I am a day late!  WHAT?  I’ve been wishing her a happy birthday on October 7 every year for over 30 days, and today she tells me that her birthday is on October 6!  WHAT?

I went back and checked my very old notes where I have recorded everyone’s birthdays and I have always had her down on 10/7.  I don’t even know what to say now!  Trust me, she’s the kind of person that won’t hesitate to tell me I’m wrong, so how come I’ve never know this for all these years?

I do feel like an idiot.
