New Job

September 16, 2008 on 9:05 pm | In Finance | 3 Comments

I’ve done it.  I’ve gone out and gotten myself a job.  I had thought I would do this after the holidays, but this position came to my attention and I decided to give it a shot.

I will be attending a 6 hour orientation tomorrow, then a 7 week in house training that starts Monday.  Once I’ve completed the 7 weeks, I will be working from home.  I’m not nervous about the job itself, or about working from home.  I am nervous about the technology end of it.  I have to install a couple of pieces of equipment to my computer and internet in order to work from home. The equipment is provided by the employer, but I have to do the installation.  I’m not very good with that sort of thing, so I am nervous about it.

Anyway, hopefully they provide us with detailed instructions on how to get up and running from home and everything will work itself out.  Wish me luck!

  1. Congrats! What will you be doing?

It’s not hard to install stuff on your computer. I do it all the time. It is a LOT easier than you think.

  2. Hi, I am a guide dog raiser in Seattle, WA. The puppy I am currently raising is named Shep. I love your blog and I love reading about other people’s pet experiences. I also have a website where I sell pet supplies and i have a blog on it also about guide dogs. I built the site to try and help raise money for guide dogs and other animal charities.

  3. Lynn – I will be a reservationist (taking hotel reservations over the phone). I’m a bit nervous about setting it up at home, but hopefully, I’ll be able to figure it all out.
