Change Your Life with IT Certification

My husband has been in the same field for 25 years. Yes, he’s had many different jobs and worked for many different employers, but he’s continued to work in the same field, moving up the ladder, advancing his career. I on the other hand, have had to reinvent myself several times over the years, primarily due to relocations. I had to find jobs after we moved, not always easy and not always in my field of choice. Not the easiest or best way to advance in a career, that’s for sure.

A few years ago, I looked into going back to college. As a wife, mom and full time employee, it’s not an easy thing to do, but I knew that if I ever wanted to move ahead and have better job security, I needed to continue my education. In looking back, I truly wish I had continued with my love of the computer when I was in college. IT, that’s job security!

I was just listening to the national news and the big story was job cuts and they’re talking about job cuts in all types of industries. All types of industries that is, except for IT professionals. There is still, and probably always will be, a high demand for IT professionals. Think about it, just about everything we do and just about everything we use on a daily basis involves some sort of technology. Everything from software and computers, to our vehicles that we drive. Being a part of IT equals job security.

Of course, even IT professionals have to continue their education to keep up with advances in technology. Future career growth comes easier with training such as Cisco certification. Cisco offers training and certification in all types of IT pathways, including voice and wireless, as well as storage networking and design.

The IT field is one of the few areas that is continuing to grow in today’s economic environment. Consider Cisco certification to further your IT career.

I Received My Punctal Plugs From The Optometrist

August 1, 2008 on 2:50 pm | In Family Health | 2 Comments

I just returned from the optometrist’s office where I had punctal plugs inserted in each of my eyes.

Punctal plugs are used to treat moderate to severe dry eye, which, in my case, is severe.  These plugs are inserted into the tear duct, in my case, in my lower eyelid.   The goal is to block the drainage of natural tears and, hopefully, help retain moisture on the eye.

Personally, I’m hoping that by this time next week, I will no longer be constantly rubbing my eyes.  In the long run, perhaps I’ll be able to go back to wearing contact lenses!
