Airport Travel

I am getting ready to leave on my road trip to Tennessee on Sunday. I wanted to make sure our van was in great condition for the trip and wanted it to be checked out by professionals. Unfortunately, with as busy as it’s been around here with guests coming and going, 4th of July celebrations, and day to day life, it’s been really hard to get everything accomplished. To top it all off, my husband informed my on Sunday afternoon that he was going out of town on Tuesday morning (today) and would be gone through Thursday. Since he drives the van daily, that left me only Monday or Friday to get the van into the shop. I opted to have it done yesterday so that I wouldn’t be stressed out about it.

I did suggest that maybe he take a car service to the airport and leave me the van, but he really didn’t want to do that. I’ve taken the shuttle here once and it was very easy. Just like Newark airport shuttle service of Dial 7, the shuttle picks you up at your door and drops you off right at the departure terminal, or vice versa. Dial 7 has a huge fleet of late model sedans and town cars for service to Manhattan, New Jersey, Brooklyn, and New York City. It’s just one less thing a traveler, like my husband, has to worry about.

Well, maybe next time.

America’s Got Talent

July 8, 2008 on 8:11 pm | In Entertainment | No Comments

My daughter and I just finished watching “America’s Got Talent”.  It was tryouts in several different cities.  We had a couple of minor power outages during the show, so we did miss a few acts while the television restarted.

I think my favorite of the ones we saw was the very last guy.  He sang a wonderful song and brought the house down.  His mom was watching in the wings and everyone was very emotional.  The guy has advanced to Las Vegas and I hope he goes far.

Do you ever watch this show?

Stylish New Shades

I’m getting very anxious. I ordered my new prescription sunglasses last week and am still waiting for them. I was told it would take 3-5 business days, it’s now been 7 business days. I’m hoping to have them finally, sometime tomorrow.

I was in the optometrist’s office yesterday to have the plugs placed into the eye ducts. While I was in the waiting area, I found a beautiful, stylish pair of frames that I would love to have as a replacement for the glasses I currently wear. I will have to wait a while as I used my insurance to pay for the prescription sunglasses and they only pay for one frame per year.

I am shopping online though too. With zennioptical.com I can get my progressive lenses and maybe even find a better deal. They certainly carry very stylish prescription eye wear. While they don’t sell the designer brands, they do carry their own manufactured eye wear in many styles to suit pretty much any taste. Because they make them, they can sell direct to the consumer and it costs the consumer less money. That’s good news to me!

In the mean time, I hope my sunglasses are here by the end of the week.  I’m leaving on Sunday for vacation!
