Vacation vs. PayDay Loan
June 23, 2008 on 10:49 am | In Family | 3 CommentsI have two driving vacations planned for July. The first, a trip for my daughter and I to Tennessee is combined with our first public attempt at selling our handmade goods. The second trip will be in celebration of my husband’s birthday and we will all three be going on this one.
I’ve been planning the trip to Tennessee for quite some time and have been earning money online to pay for the trip. I’ve all ready paid up front for my share of the cabin rental where we will be staying and so just need money for gas, food and entertainment. I’m hoping to earn more money while we’re there by selling some of my fabric creations. My daughter has also been busy making beaded bracelets and I’m hoping she’s also successful in selling those.
Our trip at the end of July was planned last month. I wanted to take advantage of the hot summer Texas weather and take my husband someplace nice to celebrate his birthday. I’m unable to say where we’re going because the destination is a surprise for my husband. He knows we’re going, I had to tell him in order for him to plan the days off from work. I’ll be anxious to write about it once we’ve been, I’m certainly looking forward to it.
With all of my financial planning for these trips though, the one thing that had definitely been out of my control is the price of gasoline. Gas prices here in Texas are some of the lowest in the country, but by the time we leave in July, they will more than likely be above $4.00 a gallon. So that I don’t have to take out Fast Payday Loans to cover our fuel costs, I’ve shortened the length of our trip and eliminated a couple of destinations. This makes me very sad, but it had to be done.
Do you have any vacation(s) planned for this summer?
A Day With the Girls
June 23, 2008 on 10:38 am | In Some of This Some of That | 2 CommentsWe’re now in our second full week of summer vacation, or is it the third? Either way, it’s the first time my daughter has seen either one of her friends from school since that last day of school. Don’t get me wrong, she’s seen her softball friends and neighborhood friends, but these are her two close friends that she usually only sees at school.
T invited them over for the afternoon and we are going to the theater to see Get Smart. One of the girls has all ready seen it with her family, but she said she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to see it again. That’s a good sign! I’m a little disappointed that my husband can’t go with us, I think he would enjoy it, but he has to work.
Maybe I’ll do a review of the movie when I get back, so stay tuned!
