Summer Vacation Has Officially Begun

That’s it, it’s over.  6th grade is history for my daughter, she’s now officially a student of the Junior High.

I can’t believe it, not only is she all ready a 7th grader, but she’s almost as tall as me!  I gave her a big hug this afternoon for having such an excellent school year and do you know, her head no longer fits under my chin!  This is impossible, she is my “little” girl after all!

She really has had a really good year.  She made the A honor roll all year, did extremely well on her state tests (scoring 100% on the reading portion) and has set herself up for a great year in 7th grade band by being selected for Honors Band.  I am so very proud of all of her accomplishments.

I wonder how much time will pass before I hear those infamous words, “I’m bored”!

  1. My daughter has a 1/2 day to today. She’ll be home around 1pm. Then we are going to see Indiana Jones (again : ) I can’t wait to sleep in and not get up at 6:15 am.

  2. Lynn – I’ve had two days to sleep in and the first, I got up earlier than normal because I had to big of a to do list for the day and couldn’t sleep. The second, while dusting my clock yesterday I must have hit the alarm button, so it went off this morning and then I couldn’t get back to sleep! I’m looking forward to trying again tomorrow. :-D
