Travel to the U.K.

I recently wrote about my memories of my excursion to Spain and now I’d like to share some memories of our travels through the U.K., places I would definitely like to revisit.

When I was a senior attending school in Texas, I met my mom, who was living overseas with my dad, in London. We had an absolute blast together. We walked everywhere, unless we were riding a double decker bus. I recall it was Queen Elizabeth’s 50th birthday and so there were a lot of celebrations in the area. I recall walking around the palace and seeing the security in their bright red uniforms standing guard. They are such an icon of London.

While we were in London, we did a lot of shopping. I had to buy clothes for my upcoming graduation and Herrod’s was the perfect place to shop in my opinion! We had so much fun, I’d never been allowed to go on a shopping spree until then and I had a blast!

We did also travel some outside of London. One of my favorite excursions was when we took the train to Inverness, Scotland. We stayed in a quaint hotel and watched for signs of Nessie in the loch. We never did see her, but I do believe she’s there! Our little hotel reminds me of Hotel Scilly Isles another quaint area of the U.K. with beautiful white sandy beaches and an unlimited supply of wildlife. A boat trip is a great way to see this and nearby islands.

Someday, I hope to return to the U.K., there really is just so much history and fun things to see and do.

I’ve visited London several times, but I think that particular trip with my mom, will always stand out as my favorite.
