It’s Pure Horror
May 2, 2008 on 1:40 pm | In Some of This Some of That | 2 CommentsMy husband and I have never really shared the same taste in movies, he prefers sci-fi and horror while I lean more towards romantic comedy and drama. That’s probably the biggest reason we don’t seem to attend a lot of new movies in the theater together, we can’t agree on what to see.
The biggest reason I don’t care to see scary movies is that they keep me awake at night. I have enough trouble sleeping without adding fear to the mix! My husband on the other hand, loves the adrenalin rush a good horror movie gives him. So, he’s going to be thrilled to hear that Frontier(s) unrated and uncut is coming to select theaters May 9, that’s just a week away, and, it will be out on DVD on May 13!
You know, it’s not very often that an unrated movie ever makes it to the movie theater. While this one is in limited release, that is still quite an accomplishment. The action revolves around a group of common thieves who flee Paris and hide out in a local small hotel. Unfortunately for them, the hotel is also occupied by a group of neo-Nazi cannibals who are more than happy to share their dingy hotel with their next meal.
This is definitely a film for hardcore horror movie fans and not for the faint of heart (like me). While my husband may have to wait for the DVD release, I’m sure he’ll be wanting to see this movie.
**Keep in mind, this IS a horror movie and some of the images as well as the movie trailer may not be suitable for all audiences **

May 2, 2008 on 1:04 pm | In Some of This Some of That | 6 CommentsA month and a half ago, I took my digital camera in to Best Buy for repair. The camera was not even three months old and a plastic piece used to hold the battery and memory card in place had snapped off. The camera had a one year manufacturer warranty on it.
After 6 weeks of hearing nothing from Best Buy, I called them. I was told that it had been determined that the camera could not be repaired so I would be given a new camera to replace. What they failed to tell me was that Best Buy no longer carries HP cameras, so they did not have the same camera to replace it with. To get an equivalent camera with even half the features, I would have to pay almost $100 extra! They failed to mention that as well.
They found a store in Abilene that the computer says has one camera remaining in stock and I asked if it could be transferred to the McKinney store. They are checking. I asked for my camera to be returned to me so that I can send it to HP myself for a replacement. Sounds simple right? Well, my camera was sent by the repair center to be recycled! So, I currently have no camera and am out the money we spent on it in the first place.
I’m waiting for the McKinney Best Buy to call me with status as to whether or not they are getting the camera from Abilene or not. It’s going on two hours since I left there. How long does it take to call another store?
I am so annoyed!
