Kicking Off Spring Break
March 14, 2008 on 3:45 pm | In Family, My Imagination | Comments OffToday was the last day of school, my daughter has no school for the next 10 days!
We don’t really have any plans, after this evening. She is playing her guitar in a public concert tonight, I hope she’s been practicing!
I’m hoping we can sneak away for a couple of days at least, but who knows, we really don’t have any plans. I’m looking forward to not having the alarm go off every morning! Since the time change last weekend, it’s still dark when the alarm goes off. So, here’s a toast to spring break!

March 14, 2008 on 2:54 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffThe past few weeks have been exhausting. I’ve talked about how much we’ve had going on recently in earlier posts. Our last big event is this evening, my daughter is playing her guitar at a public concert this evening. We have a lot of errands we need to get done tomorrow, and paperwork that I’ve had to put off because I’ve been too busy to deal with it. As a result of everything going on, I’m pretty much feeling sleep deprived. Our lives have been so unusually busy and now, I just want to sleep!
I’m truly so tired, it reminds me of when my daughter was an infant and as a new mom, I was always sleep deprived. Of course, like many new moms, I had a fairly short maternity leave and had to get back to my full time job, even though I wasn’t getting much sleep. Funny how employers don’t sympathize with the sleep deprived mom too much. I really wish we’d been able to get AuPairCare to help us out.
I think being a first time mom, I was even more tired because of the stress of everything that was new to me. I was always afraid of doing something wrong. Did you know AuPairs are certified in infant CPR and First Aide? Plus, because I was working retail when my daughter was an infant, I could have used the flexible work schedule that AuPairCare offers.
Hmmmm, I wonder if I couldn’t get an AuPair now to help me out! If not, maybe I just need to quit my new job and get back to my relaxed life.

March 14, 2008 on 2:54 pm | In Blogging | 2 CommentsBlogging is certainly a test of an individual’s writing skills and this blog is no exception. This is my second blog and sometimes, it takes a backseat. I do however make every attempt to do my best writing any time I publish a post. That being said, unfortunately, I’m not always writing at my best.
I was recently tagged by Christy at Christy’s Coffee Break for this special meme. It sort of forces you to go back through your archives and choose 5 posts that you wish you’d never written. I’ve been reading old posts this morning and, while not finding anything I wish I’d never written, I have found several that I certainly could have written better. This blog isn’t that old, so I don’t have a huge archive to choose from.
Here are 5 posts that I either shouldn’t have bothered with, or could have done a better job on in my opinion.
Web Hosting This is somewhat boring. It’s recommending a web host, and that’s about it. Not even the web host I use, but, I guess if someone is looking for a web host they might find it helpful.
Spears Loses Custody Okay, nothing new here, why did I even care? Every newscast and blogger out there was writing about Spears, why did I feel the need to do the same?
Oops, She’s Done it Again What can I say except, Oops! I did it again! Going forward, I plan to stay away from writing about Brittany!
Caring for the Elderly I actually am glad I wrote this post, I just wish I had expanded on it. I obviously wasn’t in the mood to write when I wrote that post, it’s very short!
Lost Civilization of Atlantis I actually think this is a pretty cool subject and I would have written a better post if I’d been in the mood to do more research on the topic. I was so very tired when I wrote this one. I need to not write when I’m tired!
I think just about everyone I know has been tagged for this meme all ready. If you’re interested in reviewing your own blog and would like to do this meme, feel free to do so.
Do You Need to Sell Your Home?
March 14, 2008 on 8:47 am | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffTodays real estate market is certainly questionable. While many areas remain stable, there are many more areas that have seen falling real estate values. What does this mean if you’re a homeowner?
Falling real estate values only affect those who wish to sell their homes. There are so many reasons for wanting to sell a home, including relocation, downsizing, a change in financial situation, and selling of investment property. If you don’t need to sell, personally, I would recommend staying put in this uncertain market.
As someone who has relocated 4 times as an adult, I understand the importance of the value of your home. Twice we have had to sell our home after only owning it for approximately two years. Fortunately for us, both of those situations occurred in areas of this country when the resale housing market was booming. We did quite well on those. We did suffer through a flat market when we had to sell our home in Houston in the early 1990′s, however, mainly due to the fact that there was so much new construction of homes, that resale homes had a difficult time competing with builders. Eventually, we did sell our home, but it was very stressful. We were fortunate, we were in a positive financial situation that allowed us to take our time selling the house.
Not everyone is able to wait that long. If you’re being relocated, it can be difficult to maintain two homes, the existing one and the new one in your new location. If you’ve suffered a job loss, you may need to sell you home to reduce your debt. In either case, if you can’t wait for a buyer to happen along, you may want to get check out a company such as Properties Direct. This company offers pay cash for property no matter what your circumstances. They will ensure you receive a fair value for your home and not have to face repossession.
If you’re needing to sell your home, be sure to investigate all of your options, don’t feel discouraged.
