Helping Give Back to Our Environment
March 6, 2008 on 4:33 pm | In Some of This Some of That | Comments OffI have to tell you that with all the snow we’re getting this week in the Dallas area, it makes me question the theory of global warming. I will admit though, I do believe we need to be conscious of what we’re doing to our environment and do what we can to protect our planet.
We know we need to reduce our carbon footprint. We can do this by recycling, use more fuel efficient vehicles, and using other fuel sources. It’s next to impossible though to eliminate our carbon footprint all together. That’s where carbon offsets come in to play.
GroPower Carbon Offsets help you to balance the carbon you do emit, by eliminating it somewhere else. They do this by planting trees. In other words, if an individual were to produce a ton of carbon, GroPower would plant enough trees to offset a ton of carbon, thereby balancing out what you can’t eliminate.
GroPower is unique because the plant Jatropha trees. These particular trees produce an oil that can be used to make bio-diesel, an alternative fuel.
This is a terrific concept. If you’re interested in protecting our environment and possibly making a small profit while you’re doing it, be sure to check it out.
More Snow in Dallas
March 6, 2008 on 10:31 am | In Some of This Some of That | 2 CommentsMonday night in Dallas we received almost 3 inches of snow. It melted by Tuesday afternoon when the daytime temperatures got up into the 60’s. Well, here it comes again!
It’s currently 38 degrees and raining. As the temperatures drop this afternoon, that rain is supposed to change over to snow and we could get another 3 inches by morning. This is crazy! It’s cold, wet, and gray outside. All the reasons we decided to move away from the Midwest and go south!
What kind of crazy weather are you having?
