The American Kennel Club has issued it’s annual list of the top 10 most popular breeds in the United States.  The labrador retriever remains in first place, a position it has held for 17 years!  And, for the firt time in 72 years, the bulldog made its way onto the list, inching out the miniature schnauzer for 10th place.

Without further ado, here are the top 10.

  1. Labrador Retriever
  2. Yorkshire Terrier
  3. German Shephard
  4. Golden Retriever
  5. Beagle
  6. Boxer
  7. Dachshund
  8. Poodle
  9. Shih Tzu
  10. Bulldog

Too bad the puggle isn’t considered a pure bred (yet) by the AKC.  They are certainly growing in popularity!
