Wordpress Theme
November 30, 2007 on 3:36 pm | In Some of This Some of That | 7 CommentsAs you can see, I’ve changed the theme back to the default Wordpress theme again. The other theme was having all types of code problems with comments and responding to comments that I finally had to get rid of it. It also wouldn’t work with the comment email responder plug-in which I really like using, so I knew something had to be done.
When I have more time I will look for a nicer looking theme, but for now this will have to do. If you know of any good themes that work with Wordpress 2.3.1, feel free to let me know.

November 27, 2007 on 2:01 pm | In Some of This Some of That | 4 CommentsI want to welcome new visitors to my new site. This blog has fought me tooth and nail trying to get it up and running, but I think it’s finally ready for it’s unveiling. I want to thank Robyn for placing this site on a very important blogroll that I know is bringing many of you here.
I hope you enjoy what you see and read. I welcome comments and this blog is Do Follow. However, I do have comment moderation turned on and will not accept any spam. So, if you are leaving a comment just to get a link back, think again. I welcome all comments that add to the conversation and if you comment, I will follow.
Welcome!

November 26, 2007 on 7:32 pm | In My Imagination | No CommentsI’m so excited! I was finally able to recover the posts I did on this site back in October! There were only a few posts, there would’ve been more had I been able to get into the site to post for the last two weeks of October and first week of November. But anyway, I’m just glad to finally have a true archive. This site is coming along, finally!
I’m not a big fan of Google lately, but I do use the Goole feed reader. I have no idea how a feed reader even works, but all of my posts were there and I was able to recover them from there. So for that Google, I thank you.
Puppy’s First Christmas
November 25, 2007 on 8:59 am | In Dog Sense | 4 CommentsThis will be an interesting Christmas. I feel like we have a toddler in the house again! We’re being very careful with our Christmas tree and how we’re decorating it, not placing any breakable ornaments near the bottom where the dog can get ahold of them. She does think she’s a goat sometimes, so she eats just about anything. We have caught her a couple of times all ready trying to chew on light bulbs that are on the tree. She’s very smart though so I think if we work with her and keep an eye on her she will learn quickly that she’s not allowed to play with anything on the tree. At least, that’s what I’m hoping will happen!

Fall Break
November 19, 2007 on 8:35 pm | In Family | 3 CommentsMy daughter is enjoying this week off from school, it is Fall Break. She deserves it, she just finished the second six weeks of school and she has been working really hard. Her math grades are some of the highest that she’s ever had and this is fantastic news. She has always been getting top grades, but she really struggled with math the last two years. She became very frustrated and really began to dislike math. I hated watching this happen. Last year I spoke with her math teacher several times but just couldn’t seem to get her to understand that the teaching method she was using wasn’t working for my daughter (and according to many parents, it wasn’t working for their kids either). But, she struggled through and finished the year.
We moved and she spent the summer catching up to where the math classes are here. The first couple weeks of school in September she was really worried that she wasn’t going to get it. Then, I really can’t explain why, but everything just began to click for her. She was understanding the work and what she did comprehend, she got help from the teacher with until she did understand it. For the first time in three years, I’m not having to reteach the lessons to my daughter at night. I know this is also a relief for my daughter, she is so much less stressed about school!
So anyway, like I said, she deserves a break. We are going to just relax this week, maybe do a little shopping and see a movie or two. I’ll enjoy spending the time with her no matter what we do.
Ho,Ho, Ho!
November 15, 2007 on 9:11 am | In Some of This Some of That | 6 CommentsI just saw this mornings headline, “Santa no longer allowed to say Ho,Ho,Ho!”. WHAT?? No, this was NOT my imagination, all though I wish it were!
In Australia, some lame brain decided that the word Ho can be misconstrued as a deragatory comment towards women. Okay, I think whoever this is needs to pull his head out of his butt! Yes, the word ho is slang in some areas for prostitute. But, in the language of Santa, it is nothing more than a greeting. Not to mention, what child is going to think Santa is greeting him with “prostitute, prostitute, prostitute”?
Give me a break!
Slowly but Surely
November 14, 2007 on 10:40 am | In Some of This Some of That | No CommentsI’m keeping a slow but steady pace on this site. I am gradually getting all things reloaded and hope to have it all set up in the next couple of weeks. One reason I am going so slowly right now is that my sister, my biggest helper and blogging teacher, has been out of town. She attended PostieCon in Vegas last weekend and today she is flying to the East Coast for my nieces graduation in the Coast Guard training school she’s been attending.
Then it will be the holidays, we’re all busy during this time of year, so this blog is having to take a back seat to some other issues. I will be thrilled when it’s all done and I can start really bragging about it. As you see changes, I hope you let me know your thoughts. I’m willing to listen and, if you provide step by step instructions, I’m usually able to implement ideas.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Las Vegas
November 12, 2007 on 10:49 am | In Some of This Some of That | No CommentsHave you watched the T.V. show Las Vegas? I seem to be getting hooked on this show. I didn’t watch it at all last season, but when I saw that Tom Selleck was being added I just had to watch. He was my absolute favorite in Magnum P.I. and so I was happy to get to see him again.
It’s pretty unique. It’s sort of a fast paced soap opera that takes place in a casino. Some of the videography is a bit strange, but it does make the show stand out. I really like Coop, Tom Sellack’s character. If you haven’t seen it yet you may want to give it a try.
Earlier Posts
November 9, 2007 on 3:52 pm | In Some of This Some of That | No CommentsTo my readers, I really do appreciate that you are visiting my site. I feel like a very tired construction worker with this site. We’re still not sure what really happened, but it seems something was wrong with the previous theme. It apparently had somehow duplicate itself, actually, I think it had triplicated itself and was causing all sorts of problems. I wasn’t even able to log into the site to check for comments or leave new posts. Very frustrating.
I have received all sorts of help on the road to fixing this site and will give credit to all in a later post. I am still working on it and hope to recover the posts made in October but am not sure if I can. I will be spending some time on the phone with my host hoping to work things out and then start updating my theme, plug-ins, etc.
Hope you will keep coming back, don’t give up on us now! ![]()
I’m so Proud
November 7, 2007 on 5:24 pm | In Family | 1 CommentMy daughter wrote an essay as an assignment at school and hers is one of six that was chosen to be read at an assembly this Friday in honor of Veteran’s Day! There were two selected from each grade level 4-6 and she is so excited about it. She really is an amazing writer and I can’t wait to hear what she had to say on the topic of “What the Pledge Means to Me”.
